握紧的双手

Vic and I did 'Art of Worship' workshop for CCH camp today.

Was nerve-wrecking cos we don't preach often and in CHINESE???? LOL, I thought we sounded more like deejays than preachers.

The people were very patient and gracious as we dadu-ed our way through. I was very blessed by their level of hunger and humility even though they were so much older than us.

Anyway, back to lessons proper. One of the points we shared about was that a heart of forgiveness was a prerequisite for a pnw leader.

We used an illustration of a hand holding on to an object, not being able to grab hold of other things unless it lets go of what its holding onto right now.

In the same way, a heart can never fully receive what God has in store, unless we forgive and release. And if our heart is full of unforgiveness and resentment, it has a way of eating into you and you can never never control it when it rears its ugly head. That poisons our soul and the atmosphere, and you can't control that from showing up either.

Reminds me of a line in Sun's song:

"握紧的双手其实抓不住什么"

On the way home, I found it to be so true pertaining other things:
  1. Giving - If you keep hanging on to the seed, there'll be no room in your hands to receive the harvest.
  2. Loving - If you refuse to pour out your love, there'll be no room in your heart to receive love from others.
  3. Wisdom - If you don't impart what you have learnt, there will be no room in your mind for new revelations.
  4. Relationships - If you hold on to someone too tightly, there'll be no room in your relationship to grow and mature into something beautiful.

One of the stories from the bible that I really love was about how a certain widow bugged her husband to create a room in the house for the prophet. It ended up one decision they never regretted.

Work, family, friends, myself

Shopping, eating, hanging out, recreation

Their voices, my voice, It's voice, His voice

Its always a fight for space. Where does He stand?

... ...If there is any standing space, that is.
