O.M.A.

One Moment of Atas-ness

*shimmering confetti in the background*

This is going to be the most atas thing I've ever done so far in my life in 2010.
Go yachting, see the sunset and watch fireworks exploding over my head in the night.  Never ever dreamt that I'd get to do this, ever.

Yacht.  We always had problems spelling this word in kindergarten, so the teachers did whatever they could in their ability to inculcate in us that the letter 'c' comes before the letter 'h' in 'yacht'.

Of course, they couldn't miss out the fact that this word is not pronounced as it was spelt.  Thanks to them, none of us grew up pronouncing it as 'Yah-cht' , 'Yea-cht' or 'Yuck-cht'.

And thanks to them, there was always a picture of a yacht in our worksheets for us to colour with our double-ended colourpencils, with its correct spelling at the bottom in dotted lines so that we could trace it out with our 2B pencil.

And, no matter what school or class you're from, somebody's bound to have a picture of a yacht on their art folio.
Don't ask me what 63 means... I 'goped' this picture from another person's website.

Well, that was my idea of a yacht for the longest time.  A little boat with a triangular sail with one man smiling on it.  No engines, no cabins, just a deck for the poor sailor who is at the mercy of the weather and the elements.  And no matter how bad the weather is, the man keeps smiling like those little plastic Lego men.

So imagine my delight when Tris showed us a photo of the actual yacht:

*gasps in shock*  No Sails! Got Motor!  Got Shelter!!

And with so many of us sharing, it really is not costly.

I was joking with one of us another day, that perhaps we should dress up in gowns like in the scene from drama 'Meteorite Garden'...
Downside of this idea is, due to age, I will have to be Dao Ming Si's evil atas mum, and she'd have to be 'Shan Cai'....

Of course we quickly aborted the notion as soon as it was hatched.  Imagine on a 大热天,连船长都穿 T-shirt and shorts, and all the other people around in T-shirt and shorts, and... 2 of us all dressed up in gowns.

So Embarrassing!!!
